This study aimed to investigate the effects of different nitrogen doses on yield and yield components in durum and bread wheat varieties. In study, Kızıltan 91 durum wheat and Obala bread wheat varieties were used, and nitrogen application doses of 0, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 kg da-1 were applied. The study was conducted in Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş between November and July. The experiment was conducted using a split-plot design with 20 cm row among, 6 rows, and 500 seeds per m² sown manually. The tillering number, plant height, flag leaf length, flag leaf width, hectoliter weight, number of fertile spikelets, and grain yield characteristics of Kızıltan 91 durum wheat and Obala bread wheat varieties were examined. Statistically significant differences were recorded among varieties in terms of plant height, flag leaf length, flag leaf width, and grain yield. Fertilizer doses were found to have a positive effect on all examined characteristics and to create statistically significant differences. The highest grain yield per decare was obtained from the Kızıltan 91 durum wheat and Obala bread wheat varieties with a nitrogen dose of 20 kg da-1, yielding 493 and 508 kg respectively. It was recorded that 502 kg of grain yield per decare was obtained from the application of a 16 kg da-1 nitrogen dose to the Obala bread wheat variety, and no statistically significant difference was observed between the 16 kg da-1 and 20 kg da-1 nitrogen dose applications. Grain yield was obtained as 418 kg da-1 for the Kızıltan 91 durum wheat variety and 464 kg da-1 for the Obala bread wheat variety.
